welcome to doodlebrain, where we think art is the greatest thing since sliced bread. for us, it's a way to explore, invent, or express ourselves. it's also an amazing way to learn about the world around us, since creating things with our hands helps us to take in all kinds of information. if you ask us, there's no better way to grow that big, beautiful brain of yours, than by making art. so, let's roll up our sleeves and make cool things!!

hi! I'm julia garcia.

after receiving a degree in architecture at the university of cincinnati and a master in textiles at the savannah college of art and design, i fell in love with creating things. throughout the years, i've worked as an illustrator, product designer, residential architect, and licensed interior designer. currently, i design and build houses with my dad, while running our cabinetry shop.

when i became a mom and aunt, i realized how much i love to help kids learn and explore through art, so i began to create super cool coloring books jam-packed with awesome facts and activities. this lead me to create doodlebrain! eventually, i decided to pump up the fun by creating a space in which i can teach kids to invent, build, draw, and create amazing art together.

if you catch me in the wild, you'll likely find me with my super cool family, dogs, cats, and horses. i'm usually exploring nature, taking lots of photographs, drawing, coaching, and telling terrible jokes.

hi! i'm caitlin talmage.

i received my mfa in costume design at ucla, after which i became an art educator, as well as a painter, costume technician, and costume historian. i've worked at the costume conservatory, mounting historic garments for museum shows, including an installation at the obama foundation in chicago! i've also worked on local cincinnati films, including "the bikeriders", where i painted layers of dirt on leather, and "alto knights", where i dressed people up like 1920s gangsters.

when not working with costumes, i can be found in my painting studio, working with oils and watercolors. i've also shown my work at manifest gallery. now, you can find me sharing my love of art while teaching kids at various schools and at doodlebrain art classes!

my favorite color is sea foam green and i have two kids and two cats: beauregard (who is very fancy) and laurence (he's not quite as fancy).
